Catching up, Playing With Blocks, etc...
To say the least...life has been busy for us! I returned to work full time (5 days per week teaching at my college). Although it is tremendously rewarding, it is a juggling act everyday. But this, in addition to many other things, are an adjustment.
Lucas is doing great!! Two weeks ago, his teachers at the Montessori School felt as though he had learned everything in the 2-year old class and approached me about moving him into the 3 year old class early. He is only 2 and a half!! I, being the Type A hyper-mom that I am and wanting the best education for him, smiled and said, "When do we begin?" Lucas had always gotten along well with older children, so I wasn't really concerned too much. And more importantly, if he is ready to be pushed further, I want that for him! He seems to love to learn! It is amazing how much he has already seemed to soak up. He knows his numbers with counting and can recognize numbers too. He knows and can recognize most of his letters and lots of their sounds! He loves to play with blocks. Since he joined the 3 year old class, when he gets home in the afternoons, he wants to play with blocks, do puzzles, do workbook pages in his preschool book, or color in his coloring book. His maturity level has really sky-rocketed...we have seen another explosion in his vocabulary and are amazed. Montessori school education is a really good fit for him! He loves to learn!
Justin's mom comes over to see him about once a week, and Lucas loves to build with blocks with her!! Here are some pics!!! Of course, his favorite part of the building???.....knocking it down after it is complete!!! Still a boy, huh??
AND THERE IT GOES!!!!!!!......
