We took Lucas to the ZOO for their Halloween festivities! He had a great time with friends and he makes a really cute pirate!!

Lucas is learning the Pledge of Allegiance at his new school. He is also learning a prayer said everyday before lunch. Hmmm....I think he may b a bit confused...haahaha...too cute!!

BIG DAY--first soccer game and 1st violin performance!

Today was a busy day for the Lee household! Lucas had his first performance on violin this morning. Every month, his teacher organizes a trip to a local nursing home. All students are encouraged to attend and show off their skills. Lucas has only had two lessons so we were unsure what to expect! I played piano while the kids played many songs from their Suzuki Level 1 books. For children like Lucas who had very little violin experience, the teacher just had them bow on open strings because it sounded good with the pieces. It was really neat to see Lucas participating in such a special event which I am sure meant alot to the people who lived at the nursing home! I am also glad I got to play as well. What a special day for me. Lucas was a ham (as usual) and was adding his own (more creative) rhythms to the twinkle twinkle variations! Justin said it was quite hilarious and hard not to laugh. They also said his bowing was out of this world!! haha. I can believe that! I was behind the piano so it was hard to see him myself. We were very proud though and glad Lucas got to experience this so soon in his violin studies!







After we left the violin concert, we went to his first soccer game. Three year old soccer is hilarious!! These children just randomly run around the field kicking the ball every direction...that is...when they are not crying...Lucas did great and made 3 goals!! He, in addition to a little girl, were names the MVPs of the day by Coach Ric. Lucas had a great time and was so excited when he got the ball in the goal!!!

Yeah....it has been a while!

Well we are back into the swing of things for the new school year! Lucas has started at Saint Catherine's Catholic Preschool and LOVES it there..It was hard, however, to leave the Montessori school. We loved all the teachers there and Lucas learned so much; however, financially, we had to consider other more affordable options. Lucas loves his new Teacher and has already learned several new prayers and comes home wanting to talk about God. That is so exciting!

I have started classes back at the college and things are going well. This semester I am teaching Music History. Elementary Music Methods, Piano Pedagogy, and piano. Things are super busy.

Other news: we are getting a new puppy and are very excited about it! My dad's chocolate lab had puppies, and we are getting one of the chocolate females! We are going to name her Shesa. We have already met her and fallen in love with her although she has not yet come home to live with us yet.



Finally, Lucas had his first violin lesson yesterday. Lucas had a wonderful time and seemed to be very engaged in all the new information. We are all very excited about this new adventure! Lucas has practiced his new violin several times in the last few days, so he is very enthusiastic.

Celebrating Justin's birthday

Thursday was Justin's 34th birthday!! Lucas and I took him to eat a special dinner at Provino's Italian Restaurant. We also made him special birthday cupcakes and Lucas put the sprinkles on!! Justin wanted a lemon cake with lemon icing!! It was pretty good, even though it wasn't chocolate (mine and Lucas's favorite!!) Lucas made Justin a special birthday plate and picture frame. We also got him a razor scooter to use at his office (he is a kid at heart) and a tour of Atlanta on a Segway (which he really asked for!!) It was a wonderful day, and I hope we made Justin realize how truly special he is to us!!

Summer is coming!! YEAH

We cooked out this evening on the deck tonight and it was great! Summer is definitely right around the corner, and we are so glad! Lucas had a blast playing on the deck with the bubble machine while Justin and I relaxed. It is so fun to watch him, so energetic and full of life! What a wonderful time we have together as a family. I am so blessed to have these wonderful boys in my life!

EASTER FUN!

We have had the chance to do a few Easter Egg hunts and other festivities. Lucas is so fun this year and has really gotten into the Egg Hunting spirit. He seems to becoming more and more articulate everyday which is wonderful!!! He loves to tell me stories about his day, and he is always creating fun stories and new songs to sing to me that he has made up!! The boy is very creative...the sillier the song, the more he likes it!! We are continuing to work on his phonics and he is beginning to read simple words and books!! I am very excited about that. He LOVES books. His new favorite place to go is the library. We got him his VERY OWN library card the other day, and he thought that was really cool!!! He gets to check out his own books. So fun!!!

HAPPY MARDI GRAS!!!! We were fortunate to go to Mardi Gras two years ago and have been so homesick for it ever since!! Every year on Mardi Gras we eat Cajun cuisine. This year was no different!! We went to Copeland's which had an wonderful plate of Red Beans and Rice...YUMMY!! Such a fun time. Of course I brought the celebratory Mardi Gras beads!! Super fun and Lucas had a blast!!

Addiction Starts Early...

So I have brought Lucas into my world of addiction...Yes I admit I have a problem...I am a fool for $4 coffees...Ugh...And well, Lucas has jumped on board with me. Before you begin judging me, I DO NOT let him drink coffee...It is Hot Chocolate of course...and he is addicted!! YUMMY!

Been a long time...

It has been a long time since my last post! 2009 has been hectic, although good. We are doing well and have had a good 2009 so far. Lucas has been healthy and luckily we haven't had to deal with Pneumonia or many other lung ailments that Lucas has been prone to during the winter months. Now we are just patiently waiting for spring to come. However, in the meantime, here are a few pictures of Lucas that I took recently. His looks have definitely changed. We recently got his hair cut pretty short, and the curls are mostly gone. However, it does still try to curl on the top!! so Cute! I swear he is growing several inches every week!!! My sweet baby is gone. He told me the other day he wants to start calling me "mom" instead of "mommy." Oh crap!! Is this for real??
